Back in September we tried out the new Charlotte restaurant Counter-. To read more about our initial experience see our post from September. We recently returned to see how things have changed and progressed over the last several months and were not disappointed! Covid protocols discussed in the last post are still occuring with socially distanced seating and temperature checks at the door.
Last time we went the menu was based on NC Terrior. This new menu was all around Fire and show cases food and music from different counties.
Upon reading about a new restaurant opening in Charlotte called Counter- by Chef Sam Hart my husband and I were immediately excited. Before Charlotte we lived in Chicago, so we know with Sam having trained there we were in for a treat. We spoke with Sam and found out more about Counter- and how the concept was not just about the food, but also to pair each course with music.
When I first read about the new gastropub in villa heights called the Degenerate I knew we had to check it out. The menu included interesting items that I love like perogies, gnocchi, calamari, and a bahn mi. An interesting mix of food and all sounding and looking for the pictures delicious.
During this most recent Queen's Feast we had the pleasure of dining at Indaco. It's a new restaurant in South End and did not disappoint. Walking in the vibe is very modern with sleek lines and interesting light fixtures.
Walking into Poplar we knew it was small plates, but not much else. The patio is front and center and very inviting. However, it was a bit chilly the night we went, so we opted to sit inside. We quickly found out Poplar is a peruvian restaurant with dishes like ceviche and beef skewers.
